Frequently Asked Questions

No it’s not a silly question ……. you’re not the first to ask!

If you don’t have regular treatments then the concept of going to a strangers house and getting undressed can be daunting. Everyone asks the same questions on their first visit so hopefully some of these FAQ’s will help put you at ease.

What should I take off?

Ideally for a massage you’ll go down to your pants, but if for comfort you’d prefer to leave your bra on that’s absolutely fine too. If we’re just doing Back, neck and shoulders, trousers can be left on if they are loose enough to pull down a little and for you to be comfy. Yes you can absolutely keep your socks on if you get cold feet!

Where should my arms go?

Honestly wherever you find it comfy. Generally the most relaxed place for them is relaxed along the table by your sides.

Should I remove jewellery?

This generally depends on the treatment, normally necklaces are the most important to take off, earrings are normally fine if they aren’t too big, rings are fine. I’d always recommend taking off your smart watch so you can relax fully!

Which way should I lay?

I’ll always tell you this as it depends on the treatment, underneath just the top sheet.

Can I talk to you?

This is totally personal preference! I don’t expect conversation this is your time to relax and zone out, however some people don’t find silence relaxing and therefore feel free to chat! Please always do talk to me if there is something you’re not happy/comfortable with …. pressure, temperature, music volume can all be changed but only if I know!

Laying on my front is uncomfortable can I still have massage?

Absolutely, for a number of reason some people struggle with laying on their fronts. We can either use an extra pillow under your tummy to make you more comfortable or we can have you laying on your side supported with pillows.

I have XYZ can I still have massage?

The answer to this depends on the condition and therefore I always recommend you getting in touch in advance of your appointment to ask the question. Sometimes massage isn’t going to be possible and I don’t want you to arrive and have to turn you away.
